It is Finished

My mind knows the marathon is done,
but the message hasn't made it to my body.
There's no more need to always be “on”,
yet I'm still so hypervigilant of needs around me.

Release the pressure, rest, and recharge.
Let the priest of consolation rise up within.
You were never meant to carry a burden this large.
Part of God's family, you are not an orphan.

When we cry out, we WILL be heard.
Anger and gratitude can coexist.
Our energy will soon be restored,
as sure as righteousness and peace have kissed.

“A Father of the fatherless,
a Defender of widows,
is God in His holy habitation.
God sets the solitary in families;
He brings out those who are bound
into prosperity.”
